I just got OpenZaurus 3.2 and xmms-embedded still isn't in the feed. Is there a new place for it and mplayer? Or is opie-mediaplayer2 the new 'official' media player for OZ now? Ian |

Hi! xmms-e and mplayer will be back, work is underway. Unfortunatelly I am busy with studying. Meanwhile opie-mediaplayer2 is a viable alternative. I tried just emailing the XMMS package to the list, but it looks like that= =20 was a bad idea. If anyone wants it, I can email it to ya individually. I just busted my touchpad glass. Fun. I'm not going to buy a new Z, or pay= =20 for a repair, so I'm trying to make use of what I can with the keyboard and= =20 buttons. Can you add some level of keyboard functionality to XMMS? Just so= =20 I can add songs and play them? Implementing tabs might be enough for that. (I have one without the problem, however) A temporary solution would be to add them into the .xmms.m3u file located in /home/root or /root (depending on rom, but which should be symlinks to eachother and also be ~) Be a pain to edit, but is a solution for the moment. James L BTW, can you trace out where the yellow thingies go around the ts if you have opened it? I have a theory as to how it (the touchscreen) can be fixed, but I don't want to take another one apart, if you haven't taken it apart, don't bother. > Thanks a bunch, > > Dustin > |

I am using mplayer and madplay from the command line to play music. It is actually very easy to use these two since they don't really need to be installed and they have their libs built in, just drop the executables on a CF card and run them ./ . Although with mplayer I had to copy a config.conf file manually to where it's supposed to be. But this works 100% and is pretty easy to get going. I still use XMMS to set the volume though. Hard to get into the volume applet without touch screen ability. Dusty At 04:17 PM 4/6/2003 -0500, you wrote: >On Friday 04 April 2003 21:16, you wrote: > > I just busted my touchpad glass. Fun. About opening the Z, no I haven't tried to. I did open the top of the case to slide in my G2 screen protector back in the day but that's as far as I've gone. I'm hoping that someday a cheap SL5000 will show up on Ebay and I can just swap screen units out. This is such a bummer! It's quite annoying that manufacturers expect you to pay so much for a screen unit. This has to be a common issue with PDAs. What we need is a plastic-based LCD instead of glass.
