About opening the Z, no I haven't tried to. I did open the top of the case to slide in my G2 screen protector back in the day but that's as far as I've gone. I'm hoping that someday a cheap SL5000 will show up on Ebay and I can just swap screen units out. This is such a bummer! It's quite annoying that manufacturers expect you to pay so much for a screen unit. This has to be a common issue with PDAs. What we need is a plastic-based LCD instead of glass.
