Hi!
The packages you need is at the bottom.
If xmms segfaults it would be better if you sent the
output of xmms here. (xmms > xlog1 2> xlog2 - and send
xlog1 and xlog2). However it should not segfault, definietly works for me.
Regarding the network have a look at www.zauruszone.com/howtos
or www.zaurus.com, or www.openzaurus.org . Also the mailing lists
and their archives could help a lot (openzaurus-users, zaurus-general).

fyi what you will need for a working xmms (from oz testing feed):
libvorbisidec
libmad
xmms-e
(no skin package needed)
if you want to play movies you need:
mplayer
libogg
libsdl
xmms-e-mplayerplugin
if you want to play mods(.it, xm,s3m, others):
libmikmod 3.1.99
xmms-e-mikmodplugin
if you want to play sid:
libsidplay
xmms-e-sidplugin
for shorten:
xmms-e-shortenplugin
