Have you tried clicking on the picture?
Than it's full screen.
For the current commanline you can take a look at the cvs on sf.net ,
in xmms/Input/mplayer/wav.c (look for stuff like -ao eg.)
btw libmplayer in final 0.00005 uses sdl for audio (no need to use -autosync
because sdl somehow works around the seemingly severly broken oss driver)
- but the final is not yet available/ready
