Seems flaky on my SL-5000D. If I partially insert the headphone,
it will click off, but if I fully insert it, it plays through the speaker
again.

Dunno why, but I'm pretty sure it's a standard 1/8" mini stereo plug
on these 'phones.. :) Be nice if that feature was off by default...

    Replug a few times.
Switch on keyclicks, or rename /dev/dsp1 to something else.

renaming /dev/dsp1 worked to force it to use the headphones.

Turning on keyclicks seemed to make the behavior opposite, where when I
plugged in the headphones the speaker turned on and when I unplugged
    them it turned off.

    Thanks for your help!

Same problem with my SL-5500. It seems that XMMS thinks the
headphone is plugged in when it's not, and vice-versa. The
only way to fix this is to reboot the Zaurus.

I had to downgrade to 0.00..5 to get around this bug.

Same on my 5500. I need to restart OPIE with head phone,
else xmms play sound via the buzzer, unless I plug my head
    phone :(
