They try to allocate 529 MB (!!!) RAM and crash.
Under some strange conditions which I can not replicate
xmms-e actually starts, but the window looks broken:
the actual XMMS graphic occupies a small piece of the
window, which is full screen, looks cut on the right,
and crashes soon.
