Nobody/Anonymous - 2010-12-29

I have MeD up and running but get an error when trying to connect to the MySql instance running on the same machine.

Exact error is "Connection Alert: Failed to Connect to the database".

Reading the FAQ, I have connected via the mysql command line utility and created the users and the database, granting all priviledges to the new user for the database.  I am also able to turn around and log into the MySql instance using the new user.

Does Med require a third party Java connector in order to connect up to the My Sql instance running on the same host?

Is there something else I'm missing?  I've restarted MeD with the same result.

I'm running a Mac Mini PowerPC w/OS 10.4.11
