Deborah hinkley, cs student at bradley university in Peoria, IL. classes that I have taken (important ones at least) include: db management systems and design client/server networking object oriented design in C++ intro to java independent study in java operating systems artificial intelligence and expert systems Most of the projects I have been exposed to at bradley have been small applications, or group projects that ran about a month with about 4 people (to get an idea of scale) We have had no defined managers within these projects because of the small scale however, my role is usually combined technical with leadership. In conjunction with the classes above I have created several GUI, client/server apps, and servlets in Java. I am most familiar with C++ tho, I can learn just about anything with a book. I wish that I had taken more web design courses, but I have learned some on my own. My job experience is more technical than software related. My co-op is working with the school to support its software and networking issues on UNIX. In summary, my role would be technical one I think. My experience would not warrant management as of yet, although my skills with people make that a goal I would like to pursue later. As a sidepoint, I have not had sufficient experience with groove to make a decision regarding it yet. The other night when everyone was on, I kept getting kicked off. I may need to set it up on another computer, as mine is choking. The notepad is a little bit simplistic for our purposes, I think. From: "Jim Kalafut" <ka...@ie...> To: <xml...@li...> Subject: [xmlWiki-developers] Reminder: Meeting next Monday Date: Sat, 29 Sep 2001 18:01:09 -0500 Just a reminder that our first official meeting will take place next Monday (10/1/2001) at 8:00PM/CST. The meeting will take place in our Groove workspace, and an agenda has already been put up with a number of contributions from different team members. You might want to take a look it before hand, along with some of the good links that have been posted covering XP, CVS, Wikis, etc. There is some concern that Groove may not be as robust as we'd like, so if anyone has some good suggestions for real-time conferencing chatting please let the group know.
