Category: None Group: None Status: Open Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Mariano Cosentino (marianok) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: TV_extractinfo_ar Initial Comment: This is an Argentinean version of the tv_extractinfo_en. I made it to enrich the XML data generated by TV_GRAB_AR and it works ok for this, but I have not tested it with the xml generated by other Spanish grabber, thus I name it "_ar" instead of "_es". It does basic functions like parsing the title and determine if there is data that it's note really part of the title and that should be in another XMLTV field, like "vivo" (live programming), "deportes" (sports), "noticias" (news), episode numbers, etc. if one it's found it creates the corresponding xmltv field and removes the data from the title. It will also attempt to identify what part of the title is actually a series name and what part is actually the episode name, and will split them accordingly. finally, it will search the program description to see if it has any additional data (something very common in the Argentinean sources, as they will usually put the actors names, and other info on the description) and will add the data to the XMLTV record. I'm not a member of this development team so this is the only way I have to submit this file for you to review it. best regards, marianok ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Mariano Cosentino (marianok) Date: 2008-06-29 02:49 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=2085976 Originator: YES Regarding Robert comment, Well, I do not have a co,plete answer, but more like 3 parcial reasons. a) I guess a generic "tv_extractinfo" can be used for cleaning up information from other parsers that have the same information (something common in Argentina, as most of the cable companies, newspapers, and online sites use data from the same provider, just different layout and some customization), so instead of duplicating the work for each parser, this "common" part is there for all. b) i did not want to add more work to the grab_ar as it's already taking sometime (still looking for ways to improve it) c) there is a preexistent tv_extractinfo_en, so i was thinking that it was a good idea to make it as an independent module. Like I said, not a 100% reason, but a few partial ones :-) Best Regards, Marianok ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Robert Eden (rmeden) Date: 2008-06-27 19:02 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=270469 Originator: NO interesting, I've never looked at tv_extractinfo_en. Any reason why the *ar grabber can't do the parsing?
