Bugs item #1063444, was opened at 2004-11-09 16:04 Message generated for change (Settings changed) made by rmeden You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=424135&aid=1063444&group_id=39046 Category: xmltv.exe Group: None >Status: Closed Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Bobb Waller (bobbswaller) Assigned to: Robert Eden (rmeden) Summary: Time out bug? Initial Comment: When using XMLTV on me Win 98SE to download listings it crashes/times out when trying to list more than 7 channels and more than 4 days. I Would like to this to it's 14 day limit and 60 channels. How do I work around this Bobb ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Robert Eden (rmeden) Date: 2004-11-13 18:26 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=270469 you may want to contact the Pocket TV author for a way to read a XMLTV file directly to give more flexibility. I don't see the bug being fixed anytime soon. I don't have a Win98 box anymore to work on it, but it seems to be an issue with Perl core or the SOAP modules. No one on the SOAP list has seen the problem though. Robert ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Bobb Waller (bobbswaller) Date: 2004-11-13 17:05 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=890293 I'm having a mental burp. I should have explained, I am using XMLTV and Palm program Pocket TV Browser. It now handles most everything internally. So I do not have the batch files to modify. I guess I'll have to wait till the perl.exe can be fixed. Thanks for listening and helping. Bobb ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Robert Eden (rmeden) Date: 2004-11-09 23:28 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=270469 You mention this as a timeout.. the old issue caused a Dr. Watson crash of perl.exe. Here is the code that grabs 14 days 2 days at a time. The problem was load based, so if you can grab 6 days, you can simplify it. tv_grab_na_dd --days 2 --offset 0 --output 1.xml tv_grab_na_dd --days 2 --offset 2 --output 2.xml tv_grab_na_dd --days 2 --offset 4 --output 3.xml tv_grab_na_dd --days 2 --offset 6 --output 4.xml tv_grab_na_dd --days 2 --offset 8 --output 5.xml tv_grab_na_dd --days 2 --offset 10 --output 6.xml tv_grab_na_dd --days 1 --offset 12 --output 7.xml tv_cat 1.xml 2.xml 3.xml 4.xml 5.xml 6.xml 7.xml >listings.xml ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Bobb Waller (bobbswaller) Date: 2004-11-09 17:38 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=890293 I went to the message and saw no workaround. Am I so dumb I cannot see it or has it scrolled away?
