#134 val mode reading from stdin no longer working

With recent builds the command to read from stdin as in #125 no longer works:

$ xmlstarlet val --err -
couldn't read file '-'
- - invalid

Setup:

Arch Linux
gcc: 14.2.1
libxml2: 2.13.8
libxslt: 1.1.43

I am able to replicate that issue on my set-up with libxml 2.13.8. I tried testing with the latest release of each minor branch. The versions 2.9.14, 2.10.4, 2.11.9, and 2.12.10 worked as expected. However 2.13.8 and 2.14.5 failed similarly. 2.14.5 also printed out "unable to open -".

Will investigate this further.
