Website Gets a Project News Feed

To keep the community abreast of current developments of the project, I've linked SourceForge's RSS News feed (http://tinyurl.com/2ayp6) to the main page. The following are older news items that were not syndicated:

22-June-2003 After an extended hiatus (lead developer finally found a job) headway is again being made toward XMLResume 2.0. A new, XSD-based Schema that should fix many existing problems; increased focus on the HTML stylesheet; and an honest-to-goodness real-live web service to make creating an XMLResume as simple as filling out a form. Anyone interested in developing XSD or the new XSLT should contact Mark.

27-November-2002: By popular demand, we present ORC, the Online Rsum Converter. Coinciding with this new feature is release 1.5.1, which includes several bug fixes, improved (again) internationalization support, and improved formatting functions. Also new is the People behind the XMLRsum Library section.

08-November-2002: Release 1.5.0 is available. This release provides improved localization support (including Spanish, Italian, French, and Brazilian), more formatting options, an updated user-guide, and the brand-new Java Targeting Filter.

16-July-2002: Release 1.4.2 is available. It is primarily a bug fix release, although it does include new support for formatting degree subjects as a comma-formatted list, as well as a new CSS stylesheet.

15-June-2002: Release 1.4.1 goes out. We now have support for security clearances, job locations, and Dutch localization.

08-June-2002: The user guide is now available on this web site.

24-May-2002: Release 1.4.0 goes out. This release has many new elements, including awards and interests. Also new is German and Portuguese language support. Peter Hutnick has written a new tutorial on converting your rsum from XML to other formats.

16-Apr-2002: Release 1.3.3 goes out with a new user guide and compatibility with FOP 0.20.3.

15-Feb-2002: Bug fixes in formatting academics go out today in release 1.3.2. In addition, we have some HOW-TO documentation generously contributed by Heidi Hansen. Thanks, Heidi!

16-Jan-2002: Release 1.3.1 goes out today with a fix to a minor problem with the catalog file. If you weren't using it, you don't need to upgrade at this time. But you might want to grab the new release for an HTML transformation enhancement: a div block around descriptions so you can CSS them way you want.

15-Jan-2002: Releases now go monthly so we can more quickly respond to feature requests and fix bugs. Also, version 1.3.0 is now available! We've added a ton of new features. Check it out!

3-Sep-2001: Lots of bug fixes and new features in this release, job achievements, cascading stylesheet support, and real bullet lists in the plain text formatting.

2-Aug-2001: World class rsums at last! Version 1.2.3 gives you international addresses, plus French, UK English, and US English localizations. We're taking over the world!

17-Jul-2001: Grab it while it's hot: version 1.2.2 adds rich markup of your publications which you can use in addition to free-form paragraphs.

6-Jul-2001: Version 1.2.1 is out: now compatible with FOP 1.19 and fixes some minor bugs.

17-Jun-2001: The XML Rsum project is now hosted on SourceForge.

30-Apr-2001: Joseph Feller, editor of Inside XML Solutions, wrote a great article covering the XML Rsum Library in the April 2001 issue. Thanks Joe!
