I like your project, and I hope it becomes some sort of
HR standard. In the meantime, I want more control
over the look of the generated output. For a really killer
resume, I want to make sure certain words appear in
certain visual locations on the page. Only a WYSIWYG
editor can help with that.
I don't expect you to integrate with OpenOffice, their
scripting language was designed by a masochist with a
dream, but perhaps you can convince them to write an
import filter for your schema. Also, their file format is
xml, so maybe there's a quick way to SaveAs sxw
format.
I'd love to:
Build/maintain my resume in xml
Filter/process with your tool
import the resulting xml to OO for visual editing

This is actually quite a bit of work--even more than
producing HTML output.
Your best bet at the moment is probably to generate an HTML
resume and then open that in OpenOffice.
