With the resumes I output in PDF and RTF format, I
notice that sometimes there are widows and orphans --
not exactly something you want to appear in your
resume.
Is there any chance of either adding widow and orphan
protection or the ability to insert a hard page break into
a document?

This sounds like a good thing to investigate. I believe FO
has support for this sort of thing, and fixing our
format/fo.xsl file would fix both PDF and RTF output.
Would you be interested in fleshing out how this should
work? It would be really helpful to have a set of
guidelines about when to keep two blocks together and when
to let them sit on separate pages.
Thanks,
Mark

Here's some info that might be useful in this context:
I notice the
xsls already put keep-with-next="always" the fo. Unfortunately, fop
currently only supports keep-with-next on table rows:
http://xml.apache.org/fop/faq.html#faq-N101F7
RenderX's
XEP supports keep-with-next, but at one point (and maybe still?) you had
to put a keep-together="always" on the block containing the keep-with-
next for the keep-with-next to work. Putting a keep-together on your heads
is probably a good idea anyway.
