- I'm not sure, but judging by the numerous similar complaints I've found, that 
might be the case, especially if this fixes it.

- It should use the same Odbc-Jdbc bridge name as we thought it would use and is 
currently used in gmbuilder for Windows 7.

- As I haven't used the redistributable myself, I don't have an immediate answer 
for driver distribution through our release. I'll look into it further.


Dr. Dahlquist, would you mind also telling us about installing the distributable 
when reporting the results of the test? With any luck, it may be a very simple 
installation that won't be too much of an inconvenience. Sorry again that I 
can't test this myself.

I have some follow-up questions on this:

- Does this mean that Microsoft no longer includes the Jet database library (or 
whatever they call it now) as a default part of Windows 7?

- Under what Odbc-Jdbc bridge name would we be able to find this redistributable 
version of the driver?


- I agree with Kam that, if this turns out to be the only way to go, it would be 
a serious inconvenience for our potential users.  Might we be able to include 
the .dll as part of our own distribution?  (with proper acknowledgments, of 
course)

Don, please continue to investigate other possible solutions while Dr. Dahlquist 
gives the current one a shot.  Thanks!
