I’m planning to move to Athens soon and would appreciate some advice from people who know the city well. I’m looking for a safe neighborhood with good public transportation, affordable living costs, and access to shops and cafes.

I’ve been comparing different options online, but it’s difficult to know which listings are trustworthy. Apartments for rent in Athens seem to vary greatly in price and amenities, making the decision even harder. Which areas would you recommend for a young professional, and what should I watch out for before signing a lease?
