    Hi All,

I have successfully configured my Pentaho 6 CE and the latest MonetDB database to work together. I created a schema that relies on MongoDB and I started to use it from Excel through XMLA Connect, the latest (.103). The performance was amazing. But, I can't properly drill down on a result cell. I implement a few filters, and as I do the drill down, the result only contains 3 fields, instead of all the fields the scheme contains.

The tricky part is that the same scenario works in case I use the Saiku web interface. So I suspect that something is odd with the interworking of the XMLA Connect client and MonetDB.

I see nothing in the log files, neither in the Pentaho.log, nor in the MonetDB log.

So, any clue? Or, to do a deeper inspection, what should I provide?

    Thanks in advance,

    Sándor

    Hi Sándor

    1. We need to see the traffic between Excel and Mondrian. You can use Fiddler (for example) from here http://www.telerik.com/fiddler to record the traffic.
    2. We also need to see screenshots on Saiku and Excel. If Possible paired with the traffic.

In the case you have the server on your local computer and you use Fiddler make sure you delete the loopback from the exceptions list in the proxy setting otherwise you will not see the traffic. Check the attached file to see what I mean.

    Thanks.

    Hi Alexandra,

Here you are. I used Fiddler for the first time, so just let me know I something seemed odd with the results. Or, in case you need anything more.

    Sándor

So it seems it was a false alarm. Works as it should, thank you very much for all the efforts.

MonetDB is an open-source, columnar database management system designed for high-performance querying of large-scale data. It utilizes a unique architecture that optimizes the execution of complex analytical queries, making it well-suited for applications in areas like data warehousing, business intelligence, and scientific computing. MonetDB separates storage and computation, using an innovative column-store approach to minimize I/O and maximize CPU efficiency. This architecture enables it to process large datasets much faster than traditional row-based databases, making it ideal for real-time analytics and large-scale data processing tasks. MonetDB also supports SQL vehcile wrap advertising, offering a familiar interface for developers while allowing for high-speed data retrieval and processing.

Unlike traditional row-based databases, MonetDB stores data by columns, which allows for faster access and processing of large volumes of data, especially in read-heavy workloads. Its architecture supports complex queries of bfcb on bank statement, efficient in-memory operations, and automatic indexing, making it ideal for big data tasks and scientific research environments.
