Over a year ago I tried to raise this issue on the one-wire list, but there was no response at all. Like no-one else cared. Would it be possible to use some cheap parts (almost like the 2409 but with some component in the ground connection too) to isolate the reader from the rest of the net? Or would it be like protecting a transistor with a fuse? (A transistor protected by a fast-acting fuse will protect the fuse by blowing first.)
