Toby, I'm hoping to switch to the user's default browser very soon. (Strangely enough, the Linux port has a similar problem - though of course it isn't opening IE by default.)
In the meantime, there is a temporary fix: save a copy of firefox.exe (or any browser of your choice) with accompanying dlls to C:\Program Files\XML Copy Editor\bin and change the name to navigate.exe.
A proper solution will be available soon!

PS This is fixed as of version 1.0.6.6. To change the browser used, go to Tools, Options..., General to change the setting.
