I'm using Ubuntu and I find impossible to open an xml file over my lan (windows network) or as a url.
Is it normal?
I cannot open an xml file with an http get url or with unc naming convention or nautilus convention. With gedit my possibilities are wider.
All I can do is to copy my file in local.
Am I missing something?

Thanks Gabriele, I agree that's an annoying limitation.
I can only assume that the standard file open methods don't adequately cover network access.
Still, if gedit can do it, xmlcopyeditor can too, so I'm happy to treat this as a bug.
(I am working on the next release at the moment but much my development time has been taken up by a sister project that is now nearly complete. Hence the long delay since the January release!)

Gerald

Thank you Gerald. Today I saw a strange behaviour.
If I Bookmarked a windows network path in my ubuntu/nautilus bookmarks xml copy editor could see that directory and could pick up the file!
I have no idea on what has changed but for now that's enough For me.
I had no time to evaluate deeply xml copy editor but for now I appreciate a lot its semplicity.
Thank you.
I'll keep you informed on the network file open topic.
