I've tried doing some XSLT 2.0 specific things and they didn't seem to work. Can someone please confirm or deny if these technologies are supported by this tool? If they are not, are there any plans on supporting these features in near future?

Sorry, as far as I'm aware these aren't currently supported by the two parser extensions that would suit the program (Xalan based on Xerces and libxslt based on libxml).
I wish I could give you a different answer, but for now I can't.

PS if you have a command line utility for these, you could use the command interface. If something is not working in the command interface, it's a bug and I'll try to fix it.

Sad that neither Xalan nor libxslt have plans for XPath 2.0. Have you tried XQilla ( http://xqilla.sourceforge.net )? Can you make use of it in this fine XML tool of yours?
