I had a text that included both English and Cambodian (Khmer) characters.
When I copied some Khmer text and pasted it into the Replace panel's Find box, the characters there showed up as squares, instead of displaying the Khmer. (The text was found, however.)
Same thing with Global Replace
Presumably this relates to the font used in dialogs and panels and such, or rather the font used in text boxes for such things.
Is that something under your control? Obviously, I don't need the menus or title bars to display Khmer, just the fields/boxes where I the user would be supplying some information.
Thanks,

Thanks Roger, I'll try to fix this for 1.0.9.6 - as you say, the most likely culprit is the font used in the find and replace panels.

I tried this in version 1.0.9.6 and the Khmer characters did not display properly.
The search worked fine, however.
Since I happen to be working with a number of different languages this week, I'll try it with other character sets too, to see what the parameters are.

Yes this is doable (sorry I didn't get around to it for 1.0.9.6) - I should use the font selected for the document text in all entry boxes.

Probably you're using the same font for messages. When I validate a file using Khmer messages in the SV folder, I get the same rectangles in the message: "filename is [rectangles]" -- don't know where the "is" comes from.
