Daniel, I'm getting the same error message with the new version. Am I doing anything wrong? It works great on my Excel 2007-running computer, but not on the newer one.

Thank you, Sigal

Hi, please download the new version 3.02 that I released just now and check if the error is gone. If not, can you try the solution described here: http://xltoolbox.sf.net/referencesfix.html

    HTH!

Daniel, the new version did not work. I managed to open it once, but the next time I started Excel, I could not close the debugger and go back to Excel. When I'm in the VBA editor (open because of the error), the References option is disabled. I couldn't follow your instruction with that version. I uninstalled verion 3.02 and re-installed version 3.01. When starting Ecxel, I got the VBA error. I closed the debugger, open VBA editor, and unchecked the MISSING in the references checkbox. After saving the change and opening Excel, the Toolbox worked. When trying to start Excel again, I got the same error, and the references option is disabled again. I can not close the debugger and get back to Excel to repeat the process.

    Thank you for your help,

    Sigal

    Hi Sigal,

this is a hard nut to crack. When you can't close the Editor, and the References command is grayed out, this means that the Toolbox is still running. To stop it from running, click "Reset" in the "Run" menu (or click on the little 'Stop' icon in the toolbar). You also need to close any dialogs in Excel, in case any are open.

One thing you can try is to do 'Repair' the Excel 2010 installation. In former versions of Excel, one could do this via Control Panel -> Add/remove software, but this does not work in Excel 2010. If you get the Toolbox running in Excel 2010, go to the XL Toolbox Preferences, Misc. tab, then click the "Detect & repair" button. If you don't get the Toolbox to run just once, open the Visual Basic Editor, hit Ctrl+G to open the "Immediate" window, and enter the following command: Application.CommandBars.FindControl(ID:=3774).Execute

Let's see if this works. I'm running the Toolbox just fine on two different Office 2010 setups, and on several (a dozen or so) Office 2003 workstations at work. We should be able to get it running on your system too!

Daniel, again, installation worked on the first time. I tried to follow the same instruction from yesterday (un-clicking the MISSING reference), but that was not in the list. On the next time I open Excel, I got the error message. I was able to run Excel, with the toolbox and 'repair' Excel. I got the message that Excel was successfully repaired, but the debugger still opens up when I open Excel. Problem is not yet solved. If you say you run this version on several Office 2010 computers it may be a problem with my computer. I know our IT person tried to install a program on this computer, unsuccessfully. She re-installed office, which didn't work, and eventually had to pay for a more advanced version of the program.

I'll try installing the toolbox on a different computer and see how it works.

    Thank you for your help,

    Sigal
