XLD is unsigned by the developer, meaning it cannot be opened in macOS without disabling Gatekeeper. Please register for an Apple developer account, sign the app, and re-release.

You don't have to disable it. Right click the app icon and choose open from a context menu.

This is still an issue and got worse since Apple became more strict about non-signed and non-notarised applications.
