XLayout, a program to control XOrg/XFree86 windows and pointer remotely or from a console has finally reached beta stage. This release includes the ability to display information about your current screens. We have also done alot of code tidying and fixed some issues with the way user input was handled.
xlayout, a program to control X11 windows/pointer from the console or remotely, has just released version 0.6. This version includes the ability to enable '-quiet' mode to return only a status code on exit. New features also include a new easing function to ease into the center, then ease out and proper lists of windows on a given display/host.
The new version of xlayout (0.5) introduces the ability to ease the window to its new location/size. The easing options include ease in, ease out, and ease io. This release also has a man page attached and an installation script.
Xlayout, a program to position windows and the pointer from the console has just released version 0.4. This release includes the ability to return a status code ('0' for error and '1' for success).
This enables the user to report a success or failure to a script.
To use this option, use the -quiet from the command line.
XLayout, a program to control the state and position of a window/pointer in X from the console has just released version 0.3. Although this is still in alpha developement, this handy utility can position/resize a window (by name eg, Firefox or by window id), set the window to be hidden or on top of all other windows, set the pointer to the desired location on the screen. While this is a seemingly simple task, the ability to do this from a shell script, remotely, or a web aplication currently isnt possible.... read more
XLayout 0.2 has just been uploaded.
New features include setting pointer poistion,displaying pointer information and some example executions in -help.
Also fixed some bugs regarding command line parsing.
xlayout, a consol based X11 window manager (in a loose term) has just released its first Alpha release.
Features include the ability to list open windows on a chosen display, resize, reposition, bring to top, hide, view current size/position and set border width of any window on any display by window Id or window Name.
Any developers interested in helping would be more than welcome.
