Hello,

 Indeed the web.xml is generated by XINS when creating the WAR.

 You have 2 solutions to fix your problem:
 - specify org.xins.server.config as a bootstrap property
http://xins.sourceforge.net/docs/ar01s07.html

 - add the xins.properties in the WEB-INF directory of the WAR
http://xins.sourceforge.net/docs/ar01s10.html

Hope that helps,
Anthony

Subject: [Xins-users] runtime properties

Greetings!

We want to specify the IP address that are allowed to access our application. We used tomcat as our web container. It will work fine if we are going to make xins.properties file and set the property org.xins.server.acl inside. Then, edit catalina.bat to point the location of that xins.properties. However, we don't want to edit catalina.bat as we may deploy it in another computer. We tried adding this to the web.xml but didn't work.

<init-param>
    <param-name>org.xins.server.config</param-name>
    <param-value>xins.properties</param-value>
</init-param>

Is there any other way to specify runtime properties modifying only the files that comes with the web application package?

thanks a lot!
