Hi All, I have compiled xine lib just fine (version 1.1.16.3) and have installed it to /usr/local I then tried to compile xine-ui, but it fails the ./configure stage with this error: ------------------------ error --------------------------------- checking for size_t... (cached) yes checking for xine-config... /usr/local/bin/xine-config checking for XINE-LIB version >= 1.0.0... *** 'xine-config --version' returned 1.1.16, but XINE (0.10.-70224272) *** was found! If xine-config was correct, then it is best *** to remove the old version of XINE. You may also be able to fix the error *** by modifying your LD_LIBRARY_PATH enviroment variable, or by editing *** /etc/ld.so.conf. Make sure you have run ldconfig if that is *** required on your system. *** If xine-config was wrong, set the environment variable XINE_CONFIG *** to point to the correct copy of xine-config, and remove the file config.cache *** before re-running configure no configure: error: *** You should install xine-lib first *** -------------------------------------------------------------- I have un-installed the distro's version (aptitude remove xine xine-ui libxine etc) I can not see any old versions in /usr/bin or /usr/lib so I don't know where it is getting an old version from. I have run ldconfig and it does have an entry for /usr/local/lib Any Ideas? Thanks. Bernie |

Hi Bernard Without looking at configure.in of xine-ui, chances are that configure is using PKG_CONFIG. Check in /usr/lib/pkgconfig if you have an old xine*.pc which is picked up by configure. If you don't have your distros libs around anymore, also remove the pkgconfig file. matthias On Jul 11, 2009, at 9:52 AM, Bernard Mentink wrote: > Hi All, > > I have compiled xine lib just fine (version 1.1.16.3) and have > installed it to /usr/local > > I then tried to compile xine-ui, but it fails the ./configure stage > with this error: > > ------------------------ error --------------------------------- > checking for size_t...
