On one of the atsc channels, the video is jittery/jumpy. turning OFF deint helps some, but then has the edge blur problems with not having deint on. I have a recording at http://24.255.17.209:2400/video/Star_Trek_The_Next_Generation/ along with copies of config files and a couple of logs. |

Works fine here (playing back the .ts directly), though I've only bothered to check a small amount of the first file due to their size. (Hmm, upscaled interlaced video. And pillar-boxed. Idiot broadcasters...) -- | Darren Salt | linux at youmustbejoking | nr. Just noticed, firefox picked up the wrong address for reply to On 4/17/2010 7:33 AM, Darren Salt wrote: > I demand that Timothy D. I have other 1080i and some 720p channels and they seem to work ok. Something else I just noticed looking at the log: vo_vdpau: deinterlace: temporal_spatial Why is it showing that mode when that is not what is set? Look near the end of the log I posted. Using a 8400 silent pcie which has the g98 and 512meg ram. Temporal_spatial is just out of reach for this card. |

At first look, it seems to be a TFF/BFF issue. I will check this deeper soon, but atm you can choose half_rate vdpau deint and it should work fine. -- Christophe Thommeret |

Cox claims up to 3 Mbps with "powerboost" which is some kind of compression system. I set: BandWidth all 300000 MinBandWidth all 50000 Which Firefox settles in at 286KB/sec. As I understand it, lower case is bits, upper case is bytes. So that setting should give near top speed without taking all my upload which kills down load speeds. It now reports ~1.5 hours instead of 12+ hours for one ts file :) Yea, the broadcasters don't really know what they are doing. But all the locals assume it's going to a wide screen, so they add to the sides which brings the whole thing down to a window on 4:3 tv's :(. And that broadcaster has other problems. I get strange random flashes of green horizontal bars. They don't happen very often. |
