[xine-user] Xv settings

I am not able to make xine settings work, I can't adjust contrast, hue, etc..
I have a nVidia TNT card, I think nvidia driver doesn't support those 
settings through XVideo... Am I right?

[xine-user] Xv settings

I am running Debian's latest package of Xine-ui 9/12/1 and xine-dvdnav
9.10-2 on Kernel 2.4.18.  When I try to playback a DVD, eventually the
playing stops and either starts over, or displays the dvd menu.  I seem
to be able to play longer without this happening if I have a very tiny
screen.  

Someone told me they had this problem until they turned off
XV_DOUBLE_BUFFER on the video tab in setup.  But when I looked at my
video tab in setup, I don't have all of the options that he has.  I
don't have the XV_DOUBLE_BUFFER option, nor do I have syncfb device or
XV_AUTOPAINT_COLORVIEW.  This makes me think that I may not have Xv
installed; I can't find it or libXv or lib-Xv anywhere on my system.
Any suggestions as to why I don't have these options, and if it is due
to Xv, where I should get it?  I couldn't find this file listed in the
Debian packages.

Also, I notice that when xine is on in one workspace, the other
workspace displays don't display properly.  The text is distorted where
the words XINE appear on the hidden workspace display.  Is this normal?

I have the same problem. Very annoying and have had no luck in
tracking down the problem. This is on a 1GHz athlon so I would expect
no problems.

I tried turning off double buffering and it made no difference.

Although it is not clear to me what library provides the X video 
extensions, you can find out what extensions you have by using xvinfo.

	To tweak with XV attributes, grab xvattr from the Ogle site.

I think You're right: I can't, too, and have the same nVidia TNT card. I
supposed it was a sw problem, but your supposition might well be right ...
however, I think the default contrast, hue, luminosity, are usually ok ... ;-)

	Is paddle of sliders in control window are *locaked* or reactive
to mode event. Also, what "xvinfo" tell about attributes:

    number of attributes: 13
      "XV_SET_DEFAULTS" (range 0 to 1)
              client settable attribute
      "XV_AUTOPAINT_COLORKEY" (range 0 to 1)
              client settable attribute
              client gettable attribute (current value is 1)
      "XV_COLORKEY" (range 0 to -1)
              client settable attribute
              client gettable attribute (current value is 6208)
etc...
