I've been having problems opening subtitles with xine. I'm using the
newest versions: xine-ui 0.99.3 and xinelib 1.
What happens is if I select a subtitle from the file selection dialog
xine kind of locks up but the video resumes playing (with no
subtitles). The selection dialog stays there as a grey box (see the
image attached: xine_subtitle_problem.jpg). BUT when I rename the
subtitle file so that xine can auto-load it everything goes ok. I
suppose it is a problem with the selection dialog or something. The
weird thing is that it worked perfectly before.
Don't know if this helps, but these are some lines I get on verbose mode:
subrip subtitle format detected
Detected subtitle file format: 1
video_out: throwing away image with pts 1655817 because it's too old
(diff : 4055).
Read 419 subtitles
subtitle format uses time.
read 419 subtitles, 0 errors.
Another thing is that now when searching the video I get some loud
(speaker destroyer!) noises when changing from one point of the
stream to another... This one I don't know what is, but also didn't
Finally there is a bug that I should've mentioned before that has been
like that since I started using xine. The thing is when I open xine
using my language (Portuguese) it does not display the menus (right
clicking on the video window) "Video", "Audio" and "Subtitle"
("V=EDdeo", "=C1udio" e "Legenda"). I really don't know why, because when
I change LANG to en_US it works fine... To understand better, see the
two other files attached.
Hope you can help me out!=20
Thanks in advance (and thanks for _making_ xine in the first place, it
