As Flyspray devs don't seem to be carrying on with PostgreSQL support, and as the server already runs a PostgreSQL instance (for my blog) and I'd rather not have it running a MySQL instance too, I've decided to back off from Flyspray. It was not just a matter of DBMS choices, with the last release I trusted Flyspray project a bit less, as they didn't release a simple patch to fix a security issue, but thrown a new release with new features (which ought to break, and actually broke PgSQL). As Bugzilla now supports PgSQL, I gave it a try, and it seems to be quite faster than Flyspray, and it's certainly well known and well supported. Even if the interface is so '90s. I've now switched Flyspray (which is still accessible to me and who knows how to look for it) with Bugzilla, with a sking that is a bit more suitable for xine (as in, xine logo at the top, xine colours, and the interface a bit less cluttered. I'll use a few more days in the future to clean up the interface a bit so that it looks a bit more modern; their template system is quite impressive, and should allow for it to actually look user friendly. The 3.0 version is also nicer than the 2.x that's used in almost all projects I opened a bug for in the past (Gentoo, FreeDesktop, ...). Now as for developers, please send me a (possibly signed) mail so I can add you to the xine-devs alias (as well as creating an @xineproject.org alias - mail _to_ @xineproject.org are not available yet, as I've just asked the registar to add MX, and we're in holiday season). That alias will be used for the mails that are sent to xine-bugs which we don't want to appear on the ML. Also if you happen to pass by on IRC, you can ask my bot (ServoFlame) about the bugs by saying "ServoFlame, bug xine 2", and he'll answer for you ;) The next step would be to actually have it telling the new bugs that come, give me time for that. I've manually copied over the bugs that were open on Flyspray, tomorrow I'll manually copy over the closed ones too, and update the ChangeLogs for the new numbers to be used. I'll also see to import SourceForge trackers somehow in the next weeks, if people think they are useful. =2D-=20 Diego "Flameeyes" Petten=C3=B2 http://farragut.flameeyes.is-a-geek.org/ |
