I've experimented with a pause command within the frame output callback, but the result is not accurate. - "free running decode": The source (outside of Xine) will assist trick modes (FF/FR) by spitting out only parts of the stream, which contain I-frames. Due to packetization, there may be some heading or trailing garbage of neighbor frames. Xine now needs a mode to display these frames as they come in, regardless of the timestamps which may jump forwards or backwards. - PAT/PMT passing to application: the application needs this information, somehow we have to funnel these out of the TS demux.
