My dvd-rom doesn't respond to any speed setting ioctl... Trying to play audio
CD using xine always results in motor turning on at full speed...
I discovered few interesting thing in input_cdda.c
- when clicking on "CD" in the UI, xine reads the first ~8s of each track
- data is read by chunck of 500 frames (CACHED_FRAMES) in a row, which keeps
my motor on.
I lowered CACHED_FRAMES in input_cdda.c to 30 blocks (0.5s) and my dvd-drive
motor now keeps quiet !
Is there a reason for such a high value for CACHED_FRAMES (500) ? Any
objection to making it accessible via configuration ?
