to control xine with some CGI's for my private jukebox I use the telnet
interface. Currently I am struggling with the 'playlist select <num>'
command. Doesn't this switch to the specified tracknumber? Somehow it does
nothing. Is this a bug?
To use the telnet interface efficiently I had to make some changes to the
1. send a ".\n" as last line of response to each command. This makes life a
lot easier to synchronize commands and to find the end of a multiline
2. add 'playlist status' to get a string of status information like:
"<0|1 for play status>|<tracknumber>|<mrl>|<total time>|<time elapsed>|<time
Is there any interest to merge this into the current code? Point 1 will break
any current parser. But what about making it switchable e.g. "set output
<machine|human>"? Give me a ping and I send a patch.
