Telling the MPEG-TS demuxer to discard unknown PIDs rather than "auto-detect" them is a step forwards in my effort to use xine to watch HDTV. I'm still not getting any sound, but at least it is now using the correct audio codecs:
A/52 4.0 for one short HD clip from France (no sound)
AAC 2.0 for another HD clip from the UK (no sound)
MPEG audio layer 2 for an ordinary SD clip (sound works OK)
I believe that the UK uses HE-AAC for its HDTV audio streams. I've built xine using Fedora 14/15's external libfaad, which I'm fairly sure supports LATM. However, will xine's FAAD plugin need extending in order to use this support? xine will certainly need *some* kind of code change in this area because it is currently corrupting memory and ultimately crashing... ;-).
