afaik no, unless Rich Wareham is working on it, but since you're both
working on navigation/dvd menues (according to my xine-lib/TODO) I guess,
err, no: I _hope_ ;)) you're communicating enough to coordinate your
efforts. I guess you'll need subtitles for DVD menu support as well.

oki, go ahead - and please try to keep the implementation as cleanly as
possible limited to xine-lib/src/libspudec, that's where I've moved all
spu-related code parts.
ideally the spudecoding should be driven by video_out, I'd try to decode
the spu data "on demand" as the pictures are displayed.
src/xine_engine/video_out.c:video_out_loop() is a nice place to hook these
things up, there is already a /* FIXME: spudec_overlay_yuv ...*/ comment
time is a funny concept

Getting Subtitles working is a requirement before buttons will work because
we can use the same code to display a button as that needed for subtitles.
All Rich Wareham's code was for 0.4.x so I suggested we move everything to
So we need libcss and spudec working before NAV.
Has anyone got a 0.5 version of libcss working ?
