hmmm - what hardware configuration do you have? Are you using a amd k6
processor? AFAIK the binary debian package is optimized for intel cpus and
therefore might crash on non-pentium processors.

Try compiling xine from source - that shouldn't be too complicated, just
make sure you have imlib and imlib-dev packages installed.

Hi

I was trying to get xine to work and it coredumps me ... :/
either trying o use Xv or the shm way (foring it with the -s option)

I'm using debian  (typed with woody and then updated to unstable) and XFr=
ee
4.0.2

I installed at first the precompiled .deb package, and then I compiled it
myself. I'm using those plugin so I can play encripted dvds from the capt=
ain
css page.

It crashes when is going to start playing the movie ... I mean, xine star=
ts
normally, then when I push the play button, it resizes the output window,
and then it crashes ...

there's the output it gives: (if you wantany other info or me trying to
debug it just let me know)

Thanks or the bug report anyway, I hope we'll have a nice error message
like "MRL not found/invalid" in the next release instead of the coredump
;-))

drop me a line if this doesn't solve the problem.

I have a Voodoo3 AGP. K7 -500 over a Asus K7M mainboard and 128M RAM ...

I already did it. (was the first thing I tried) but sameresults. Right now
I've just downloaded the cvs version and I got again the dammit segfault :/

it might be that problem with k7 detected as 686. Try a

make clean
rm config.cache

export XINE_BUILD=k7-pc-linux-gnu

./configure
make 
make install


before ./configure
