Bugs item #1103914, was opened at 2005-01-17 15:24 Message generated for change (Comment added) made by daurat You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=109655&aid=1103914&group_id=9655 Category: None Group: current cvs version Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Alain Daurat (daurat) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: problem with the mms URLs Initial Comment: Xine fails with some mms live streams. The problem is just due to the following: when xine plays mms://server/path, it sends "/path" to the server, apparently it should send "path" without the beginning '/' (mplayer and windows media player do this) The attached patch (from the CVS version) solves the problem. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Alain Daurat (daurat) Date: 2005-01-17 22:54 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1037671 Sorry I have no free public URL. The only streams that I know which cause problem are the TV channels provided with the Club-internet ADSL subscription, (http://www.club-internet.fr) With this patch xine displays perfectly these channels ! Without the patch xine is blocked immediately with the message ---- xine: found input plugin : mms streaming input plugin libmms: failed to read mms packet header xine: input plugin cannot open MRL [mms://.... --- Notice that this patch does not disturb any other stream server, so I think that it is xine which does not follow the MMS specification as in the commands sent by "Windows Media Player " the path does not begin by a '/' The only problem with this patch is when the URL has the form mms://server without any filename, in the case the path is empty, I don't know if it works. (is there such a public example ?) Everything would be simpler if a public specification of the MMS protocol would be available, but apparently there is not :<) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Thibaut Mattern (tmattern) Date: 2005-01-17 19:11 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=532851 please give me an URL that exhibits the problem. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=109655&aid=1103914&group_id=9655 |
