Hello Miguel, I was wrong with what I wrote. For any reason xine was started with xshm and this worked always. I will try now all versions again with xv and write you the results later. XFree86 4.3.99.902-43.28-patch XFree86-server 4.3.99.902-43.28-patch This update fixed all my problems with the blue screen. Now the newest version xine-lib-1-rc5 and xine-ui-0.99.2 are running without a problem. So all who are using SuSE 9.1 I recommend to update there XFree packages. I also combiled kaffeine but it hangs as soon as I try to play a file. Maybe the reason for this is that I updated to kde 3.3.0 already. Anyway thanks for all your help.
