Oups - ain't that stupid... For my desktop: A diff of /root/.xine/config and /home/<user>/.xine/config resulted in a = wrong=20 entry for audio.driver. As there where no "hickups" for root (I know - ne= ver=20 run as root) setting audio.driver to auto solved the problem for my deskt= op.=20 Sorry. For my laptop: None of that. Even disabling daemons one by one didn't avoid the problem.= =20 Since I'm using version 0.9.13 - maybe an update will help (but I don't t= hink=20 so). I'll gonna try it and post experiences...
