I never thought that I would see the day ;-) )? i use gdb/kdbg and it works quite nicely. either with core dumps (fast) or running xine. i don't know what is available under cygwin though, but the linux development enviroment is definitely not archaic (one could also develop/debug xine from kdevelop/anjuta, for example) of course, some kinds of problems in a media player are easiest to spot with printfs since they may involve timing issues, comparing multiple buffers, pts, etc. regards, Miguel |
