This causes all sorts of strange problems in versions 0.9.13 and below. To help fix this, look in /usr/local/lib for "ls *xine*" Then in the xine source directory, do "make uninstall" on xine-lib and xine-ui. Then check again in /usr/local/lib to see if anything is left over. If there is anything left, delete or rename it. Then do "make install" again on both xine-lib and xine-ui. This might help.
