Hello! In the past, I got a lot of recommendations to use "transcode" and "dvd::rip" to convert video files. Well, I got this running on my laptop (SuSE 8.0), but then I tried to compile/install the same sources on my workstation (also SuSE 8.0) and shot it hereby completely. -> Yes, transcode is mighty, but extremely complicated in setup. Is something out which is much easier in handling? What I want to do is converting some file formats (VOB, but also some strange mpeg1 files which use non-standard contents like mp3 audio or crazy video streams) into plain standard mpeg1 with svcd video. mfg Ing.
