You should have some filter questions before allowing submissions so that typical configuration problems don't get mixed with particular DVD problems, oh, in case you're planning to allow public submissions, of course. See you Gustavo -------------- I am thinking of making a web site where users of Xine software can go to record success or problems with DVDs and Xine. It would be a Database of DVDs that work without problems or DVDs with problems and what those problems are. I would also like to keep up with which DVDs need to be donated to the developers so that problems can be solved, but this may not be logistically possible. Goals of the Xine DVD Database: 1) Good PR for how many DVDs work with Xine. 2) Resource for users having problem with a piticular DVD. 3) Organize DVD playback problems in a searchable fashion. 4) Improve the QA process by offloading testing to all Xine users. Here is the table layout I am thinking of: * DVDid VarChar DVDtitle VarChar XineVersion VarChar PluginUsed VarChar InstallMethod VarChar AmountDVDWatched integer PlaybackPerfect Boolean PlaybackComment Text MenusPerfect Boolean MenusComment Text SubtitlesPerfect Boolean SubtitlesComment Text AnglesPerfect Boolean AnglesComment Text * (I think DVDs have a unique ID, but need to research. Possibly tie into an open DB of DVD information.) Let me know if this is a good or bad idea and if so, why. Feedback on what the DB tracks is also greatly appreciated.
