First, the auto-snapshot feature should not be restricted to just daily; it should allow for monthly, weekly and hourly snapshots.

In addition, there should be a mechanism to send it to another FreeNAS box via zfs send/receive. The GUI must first let the user setup a ssh communication channel between the two boxes. This GUI must allow for a way to specify the target pool and whether the send is is incremental.

    I would also like to see zfs replication added to nas4free.
    remote backups are key in my env.

    In conjunction with replication, creating snapshots every 15 minutes would be useful in order to keep the replicated snapshot small.

    Already wrote this in the forum, but it would be nice to also have the retention of snapshots based not only on time but also on the number of snapshots

    If this ever gets implemented, please do it in conjunction with mbuffer.
