FreeBSD ports has recently got net/samba416. SAMBA 4.13 (still the mainline in FBSD ports) is set to EoL. It would be great, if net/samba416 will make it into XigmaNAS as the standard SAMBA backend.
I already started working on this, however some bugs still exist for new samba416 port to be fully operational on production systems.
