While clicking 'Launch as Root' option or opening protected directory, the terminal window opens for authentication. But neither user password nor root password works. The window just closes/disappears.
Same issue here.
When I try to use "su" option it ask me for password and close after password is provided poping a non hinting error message: "An error has occurred!"

Hi, in the new Xfe 1.4, you can customize the sudo and su commands (in Edit / Ppreferences / Mode) to suit your particular system. You should give it a try...
