First of all many thanks to all the people who makes this software possible.

I have a 1920x1080px display, with 166 DPI, and the size of icons and fonts is too small.

$ xdpyinfo | grep -B2 resolution
screen #0:
dimensions: 1920x1080 pixels (290x170 millimeters)
resolution: 168x161 dots per inch

I'm running 1.42-1 version of xfe in Debian testing distro:

$ sudo dpkg -l | grep xfe
ii xfe 1.42-1 amd64 lightweight file manager for X11
ii xfe-i18n 1.42-1 all lightweight file manager for X11 (i18n support)
ii xfe-themes 1.42-1 all lightweight file manager for X11 (themes)

If you need more information I will provide.

Thanks again.

Javier

    I confirm that the icons are too small on my laptop (15.3 inches, 1920x1080, 96x96 dpi).

    I suggest that they be made sizable in some preference dialog, as in other file managers (e.g. very small|small|default|wide|very wide or très petite|petite|défaut|grande|très grande).

    About font size: as it can already be set in the UI, I just suggest that the default size be set to 12 instead of 10.

    Other than that, congrats and thanks for xfe: this is my preferred file manager under Linux and I will ship it in upcoming Slint 14.2 (based on Slackware and Salix).

    Bien cordialement,

    Didier Spaier

    To clarify: Only the icons in the toolbars are in concern, I think, as in the panels they are already sizable (small|regular|large)

    If possible, I suggest that the size of the icons in a toolbar be adjusted to fit the height of the toolbar, that depens on the size of the font used. Also, all icons in the toolbars cousml be vertically centered (in the attached pic ("police normale" has size 20), this is only the case for the icon associated to "Rechercher")

    Bonne journée,

    Didier

    Yes, true, I just discovered the option to resize fonts.

    So the only thing to improve is the ability to resize icons.

    PD: I don't see the option to edit this issue title to reflect it.

    Icons are PNG files and are not resizeable.
    I'm afraid Xfe is not yet high dpi friendly, sorry...

    Good news: I think there is a way to make Xfe HiDPI friendly. I'll try to implement this soon...

    Hi, this is fixed in Xfe 1.44. Please go to Edit / Preferences / Appearance and adjust the DPI value to suit your monitor's DPI.
