I just installed xf4vnc-ix86-linux-4.3.0.104 on my
Fedora Core machine. I wanted to use the viewonly
option so that I could teach a class, and the students
could connect via VNC. I put the 'Option "viewonly"'
under the Device section of the XF86Config.xf4vnc, and
started X. I can connect with VNC to the machine, but
it is not viewonly--I can open windows/type text.

I wondered if the options were being read, so I changed
'Option "usevnc" "on"' to 'Option "usevnc" "off"', but
I could still login with VNC. However, I do have to
have 'Option "rfbauth" "/root/.vnc/passwd"' or else
this password file is not read. This leads me to
believe that at least some of the Options are being read.

Using the server option you need to use the udpPort and
    connect via udp.

Or you need to use the vncviewer option -viewonly.
