What framework is used for the GUI - has there been any investigation on using QooxDoo to speed up development?

We're experimenting with it now, it is a bit sluggish on older hardware (3+ years) and the developer kit has a large footprint (80mb - albeit most of that is documenation, examples, and the python script based "compiler") but you can use qt to edit the forms which makes prototyping quick and easy.

I should note that the 80MB is just the development - it "compiles" down to a very small and manageble foot print...
The speed we were also wrong about - in general it's fairly speedy on chrome, firefox, safari, but has issues on IE8 due to the heavy use of the DOM.
Some truely amazing widgets can be seen http://demo.qooxdoo.org/contrib/demobrowser/demo/QxProtovis/trunk/default/1.2/index.html
just don't try it from Fox's build-du-jour Minefield....
